Adam S. Haws, DDS
My father, Karl Haws, practiced dentistry for more than 50 years. He taught me that the difference between good dentistry and great dentistry is the patient. This means I don’t just treat teeth, but I treat the person and the soul behind those teeth. To be a great dentist you have to treat the whole person. Dentistry is the perfect mix between art and medicine. There are few things in the world that can improve someone’s quality of life, confidence, and outlook on life faster than improving someone’s oral health. Our patients truly appreciate the little things that we do to make their dental experience more comfortable. I love how our patients always come in and leave with a smile on their face.
Education and Continuing Education
- Associate of Arts degree – Ricks College, 1994
- Bachelor of Arts degree – Brigham Young University, 1997
- Doctorate of Dental Surgery – Pacific School of Dentistry, 2004
My team and I attend monthly continuing education courses. These courses keep me on the cutting edge of dental technologies and treatments. Anything I can learn that will help make my patients’ dental experience easier, faster, and more comfortable is very important.
Office Life
Many people in the community perceive the dental office as a stressful environment. My staff exhibits a perfect balance of confidence and lightheartedness to calm and ease any anxious patient. We love what we do and like to have fun doing it. We have the finest staff members with decades of experience in Santa Barbara County. With that experience comes ease and comfort when working with patients of all ages. That kind of quality cannot be taught overnight. It is nice to have a staff that agrees with my dental mission.
Family Life
I am a native of Santa Barbara and currently live in Solvang with my wife, Camene, have four children, Keller, Tessa, Cooper, and Ainsley. We have a German short-haired pointer named Arlo, a dozen chickens and two beehives. In my free time I enjoy cycling, tennis, gardening, fishing, singing, and spending time in our RV or at our family cabin in Idaho.

Community Involvement
I am an active participant in my community and a member of the Buellton Chamber of Commerce and the Santa Ynez Valley Chorale. I provide free kindergarten dental health screenings, free sports guards for student athletes and the annual Santa Ynez Valley Dental Makeover. Ynez Valley Dental Makeover.
